Colorado & the Southwest, part II
|
Saturday September 30th.
Downtown LA and the Union station. We catched the northbound Coast Starlight as it departed before we once again made a visit to
Allied Model Trains. We then got onto I-405 to visit other hobby shops and at one of them we saw that the LA Model Railroad Society had an open
house. We drove over and was quite impressed with their pretty large layout. It was crowded and very hot, but we got invited into the back of the layout to see it
all from above.
The day went quickly as we tried to explore every hobby shop we could find. The day ended as we drove south to Anaheim past Disneyland and found a Motel 6.
Svein Tore and Jan tried the pool... it was very cold!

Wednesday October 4th.
After a couple of hours of trainwatching at "the pass" we headed for "the loop" to finish off the day with some more trains.

Golden Gate in the fog...
October 8th 1995
Before flying home Svein Tore insisted that we took yet another trip back to the Golden Gate bridge. Unfortunately it was
overcast, but we still took several pictures both from the park and from above the bridge. We did regret for not stopping
yesterday as it was sunny and clear which is unusual for this area.
